Armor - The Protective Essential Oil Blend
A Tale of Two Cities. White Christmas. The Chronicles of Narnia. Coca-Cola. Armor Essential Oil. Wait…what? What do all these things have in common? They are all best sellers. And Armor is Selah’s #1 selling blend, for good reason!
Recently, my family came down with the dreaded flu virus. Like a lot of people this time of year, my mom, dad and sister all got hit with the nasty sickness around the same time. But unlike the majority of people, none of them went to see a doctor. Actually, they didn't have to. Instead of pumping themselves with immune-system-killing medicines, they just used Selah's Armor Blendand Oregano (they work insanely well together to fight the flu). Sounds crazy, right?
Except that it worked.
For all three of them.

"I must say that recently when we had a version of this flu bug run through our house, the oregano oil was such a blessing. Helped keep the coughs down to a minimum. I used it in a cold-mist diffuser and the coughing would be done for." -Shannon

But if you're skeptical, like I was when I first began my journey with oils, you may not yet be sure about "those oils" (as my friend Tonya used to call them before she converted). ;-D So here's another little morsel for you to chew on...
If you have kids, you know that one of the most challenging mom-moments is when your kid gets sick. It's hard to watch a child suffer, and plus, let's be real here... sometimes they can test your patience when they don't feel well, the little darlin's.
I have this fellow mom-warrior who's kids came down with a bad case of strep throat. Actually, that's redundant, because anytime strep is involved, it's bad. Luckily for her, she had Selah's Armor Spray on hand! She sprayed it in the back of their throats 3-4 times a day. The next morning the strep was GONE. I kid you not. Her kids have encountered strep a few times since then and each time, the Armor Spray has done the trick!
Check out what another mom said about Armor Blend:

"We absolutely love Armor! Our go-to when sick is Armor Tea [recipe below]. The kids ask for it the moment they don't feel good. For sinus infections, respiratory infections, colds ... you name it!" -Jennifer

In my experience, Armor Tea works much better than the over-the-counter stuff that just provides temporary relief.
*Keep in mind that it is not advised to take essential oils internally unless under the guidance of a certified physician who is also certified in aromatherapy. (We have to include all those warnings and legal jargon to keep us protected, ya know...)
So here's a look at what makes Armor such a powerhouse protector:
The first ingredient in Armor is Clove oil, which has awesome antibacterial properties. (1) It is also a very powerful antiseptic for use during all sorts of epidemics. (2) It is said to “be effective against several strains of bacteria, including those that cause skin and urinary tract infections and respiratory infections such as sinusitis and pneumonia.” (1)
Lemon is the second essential oil in this blend, and “it has been used successfully by medically qualified aromatherapists to treat some serious illnesses. This property, combined with its antibacterial and fever-lowering action, makes it an extremely valuable oil for treatment of sore throats, bronchitis, cough, throat infections, colds and influenza.” (1)
Armor Blend also incorporates Cinnamon Bark Oil, which “resists viruses and kills bacteria…its antiseptic and tonic action helps to ease colds, influenza and infectious and viral diseases.” (1)
These are only half of the essential oils included in this blend, and I’m sure you can already see how these oils together create a powerful tool to protect from and fight against sicknesses of all kinds. You can dilute Armor and use it topically, or diffuse it to help ward off viruses.
Resistance and Mighty Fortress are two other Selah blends that are also used for fighting infections and boosting the immune system. Because they contain different ingredients, and therefore different properties, you may get even better results when you alternate them with Armor.
The oils in the Armor Blend can ease stress-related, weak and exhausted conditions, lift feelings of sluggishness, and increase energy. Which is a perk when fighting sickness, since a beat-up immune system tends to leave us feeling gross and extra tired anyways. (1)
Not only that, but the oils in the Armor Blend are tonics for the digestive system. They may help prevent or ease digestive issues like vomiting, nausea, gas, acid reflux, colic, indigestion, diarrhea, cramps and spasms in the intestines, food poisoning, intestinal infections and sluggish digestion...*WHEW* that's a mouthful. (1)(2)(3)
How great does it sound to have ONE blend that can ease the stuffiness of cold or flu, fight off infection and boost the immune system, while simultaneously combating stomach upsets and giving you energy?? Just a few of the reasons this bad boy is #1 on the essential oil charts. Check out the product page for even more info.
And remember, especially during flu season, Armor and Oregano work wonders together and can be alternated beautifully with Resistance or Mighty Fortress.
I prefer to diffuse oils in our home so that the benefits go directly into the bloodstream via the lungs.
Here's my personal Diffuser Recipes, especially during flu season:
Ages 2 yrs and up:
- Armor - 2 drops
- Lavender - 2 drops
- Eucalyptus Radiata - 2 drops
Ages 6 yrs and up:
- Armor - 4 drops
- Oregano - 1-2 drops
- Lavender - 1-2 drops (optional)
*Remember, Oregano is very strong (which is why it works so well!) so don't get carried away with it. If you want to apply it topially, do it only on the bottoms of the feet, diluted.
And let's not forget the roll-on version of Armor and also Armor, Jr. for kids 2+!
